Chic ipad case anyone?

These Ipad cases from LODIS are the ultimate fashion accessory.I was so excited to buy one of these babies, but when I got to check out.. postage was an extra $100 on top of the already 100 dollar case!! Arghh.. what are they thinking?? Hello people's we are NOT all Kim Kardashian's making a gazillion dollars per day!!.. So my amazing ipad cover dreams were crushed.. mine will just have to be dressed in a $25 faux crocodile skinned cover from phone king.. Sigh

Many people think of Auckland, New Zealand as the small sister of Sydney. But unless you've been there, it's actually different. Put aside the look-a-like harbour bridge, and you've got something special. A city well ahead (I think) of Sydney in terms of style, stores and trend. Take Ponsonby for example. A Paddington of New Zealand, but more in tune with today's world. It's full of incredible fashion stores, i.e Sass & Bide and Karen Walker, and trendy cafes, lounge bars and restaurants. One store, which stocks one of my favourite new labels Meadowlark, is a must-see. Meadowlark is a collection of covetable and precious jewellery in silver and gold. Sometimes playful, sometimes dark, the creations are always beautiful with an edge.

I came across Natasha Welsh's home in Madison magazine (Nov 2011 issue), and I fell in love. Situated in Seminyak, Bali, the fashion designer's home is one of sheer beauty and ethnic touches. Check it out...

To die for...literally

I wouldn't exactly call myself a foodie, nor do I spend big money on the stuff, but when on holidays, everyone is allowed to splurge...right? Not my credit card though. 
'R' took me to Clooneys. An abandoned warehouse in a hidden corner of Auckland. With factories lining the streets, I was wondering where we were going - that was, until I walked through the door. WOW. The food was one thing, but the decor was from another world. Dark, intimate and sophisticated, the minute I saw black fringing separating the tables, I knew I was in my element (please note: photos do not do this place justice). 
For food, I had baby quail covered in almond, apple and cinnamonm, and for the main, I choose Hawkes Bay natural lamb with swede, white miso, soya bean, black garlic & puffed faro. Mmmm. Our sides consisted of long stem broccoli, zucchini, black sesame salt and shoestring fries, truffle oil & parmesan. Oh, and I forgot to mention the bread plate with burnt lavender butter to start.
If I was religious and had to choose a last supper, it would be this place. Don't miss it if you have a AKL stopover or holiday booked.
